Four iconic historical and tourism spots were featured in the launching of Ilocos Sur Bicentennial stamp by the Provincial Government headed by Governor Ryan Singson and PHILPOST. Gov. Ryan together with Mr Luis D. Carlos the Asst. Postmaster General, Vice Gov. Jerry Singson, other Provincial Officials and local chief executives launched the stamp on February 8, 2018. The Philippine Postal Corporation issued a special set of block of four stamps and a souvenir sheet with two circular stamps. Six designs for the stamps summarized the beauty and grandeur of Ilocos Sur like the Calle Crisologo, the Sta. Maria Church, the Pinsal Falls, Bessang Pass Natural Monument, Bantay Bell Tower and the Pagburnayan. Gov. Ryan encouraged the people to send letter for their love ones using the traditional way so that they can use the bicentennial stamp or have it as their memorabilia. “The commemorative stamps will celebrate our history as people. As symbols, the stamps speaks eloquently of the kind of people that we are, and how rich our heritage and culture is. Truly it marks our being a Heritage Province that had been built, established and nurtured for the past 200 years”,said Gov. Ryan. One thousand copies of personalized stamps were issued at a price of one hundred fifty pesos per sheet.
