PGIS improves Provincial Hospital Facilities and Services

VIGAN CITY- Through the assistance of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur (PGIS), Ilocos Provincial Hospital Gabriela Silang (ISPHGS) continues to maximize its services to ensure health and safety of the people. Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson stated that the Hospital already have its new ambulance, mobile dental clinic and Waste Water Treatment facility. “The province of Ilocos Sur is on its progressive state, especially in Gabriela Silang Hospital in which the government allotted funds for the purchase a new ambulance and construction of the water waste treatment facility” Singson said. The governor also extended his gratitude to the Department of Health (DOH) for giving a mobile dental clinic to the Hospital. The ambulance and mobile dental clinic are being used for its medical missions and in expanding health services in the entire province. Meanwhile, a water treatment facility was constructed to help in preserving the environment by purifying sewage water from the hospital. “The provincial government decided to build a water treatment facility that purifies sewage water so that it could be reused, instead of disposing it. So the people don’t need to worry about it anymore,” Singson stated. However, the hospital still lacks on infrastructure that is why the PGIS will ask for funds again from the DOH when this agency already has its new secretary. Previously, PGIS asked for funds worth 90 million from the DOH, but the agency only gave 40 million. As a result, the reconstruction of the building is not yet done. Aside from the inauguration of the new health facilities, Gov. Singson personally gave grocery items to the patients of Ilocos Provincial Hospital Gabriela Silang as part of his post-birthday celebration last Tuesday.
