Bureau of Immigration Opens Satellite Office in Ilocos Sur

Provincial Capitol, Vigan City - The Bureau of Immigration formally opened its annex office in Vigan City on September 18, 2015 as Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison and Governor Ryan V. Singson inaugurated the newly renovated space in the Provincial Capitol. The agency’s pilot operation was held at Vigan City Convention Center on the same day where hundreds of foreign nationals flocked and availed the services such as renewal of student visa. The provincial government offered for free the vacant space in the Provincial Capitol to serve as the new BI office. “The office is now accessible to the foreign nationals in Vigan City and in nearby provinces, in this way we can help them lessen their burden in processing their needed requirements to stay in our country” Gov. Ryan Singson said. Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison sees the need of putting up a satellite office to cater the increasing number of foreign investors and foreign students in the province.

Kapitol Outreach Extends To Lowland Towns

Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur-The provincial government headed by Gov. Ryan Singson visited the different barangays and brought free medical and dental services under the program dubbed as Kapitol Outreach Reaching Your Areas Now or RYAN. From the far flung barangays of the upland municipalities, the free services extended to the different barangays in Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur. The barangays were clustered into four groups, where residents flocked into these areas to avail the services brought by the provincial government. Aside from the medical services, farmers from each barangays received farm equipment and facilities which include hand tractor, four wheel Kubota tractor, water pump, pipes and hose. “We want to recognize our farmers who work hard in providing us food. With this, we are giving farm facilities to help them and eventually to improve our agricultural sector.” Gov. Ryan said. The farmers express their gratitude for receiving the new technology, it will be a big help for them in increasing yields and it will lessen manpower for their advantage.

Negosyo Center to Assist Ilocos Sur Entrepreneurs

Vigan City – The Negosyo Center was formally opened to the public by the Department of Trade and Industry after it was inaugurated on July 29, 2015. This new building serves to meet the goalmouth of the “Go Negosyo Act Program” in facilitating the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or the MSME’s in the province. The launching was attended by City and Provincial officers headed by Gov. Ryan Singson to show their support to the program in promoting job generation in the province. “We are thankful for the DTI in assisting us in giving services. This center is beneficial for our constituents especially those who wish to start business. They are properly guided to achieve a sustainable source of income”, Gov. Ryan said. With the “Go Negosyo Act”, the DTI, with the support of Local Government Units and other government agencies, boosts government’s assistance for the growth and development of MSMEs leading to more jobs and improved standard of living of the Ilocanos.

 E-mobile Passporting Aids Hundreds of Applicants in Ilocos Sur

Vigan City –The Department of Foreign Affairs brought to the province its services through E-mobile passporting held at Provincial Capitol atrium on July 23, 2015. Through the information dissemination initiated by the Provincial Government for two months, thousands of applicants from different municipalities flocked to avail the services. This includes the first time applicants and those who wanted their passports to be renewed. “We worked this out together with the DFA in order to serve our constituents and lessen their burden in going to the regional office in La Union to secure their passport”, Gov Ryan said. Eight hundred applicants with complete requirements were screened out by the DFA within the day. Former OFW Beatriz Malapit of Bungro, Magsingal was one of the clients served. She wanted to renew her passport just to be ready whenever her former employer will request her to be back in her workplace. “I appreciate the move undertaken by Governor Ryan.

DOT Trains Tourist Guides of Ilocos Sur

Vigan City- Officers of the newly organized group of tourist guides in Ilocos Sur took their oath of office before the governor of the province Wednesday morning. The group composed of thirty five individuals who went through almost a month of training undertaken by the Department of Tourism Region 1 and Tourism Office of Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur on May 21 to June 10, 2015. The group was organized to boost the tourism industry and to focus more on the potential of newly discovered tourism sites in the province. As Governor Ryan Singson said, there are a lot of tourist destinations that are yet to be promoted and develop. This necessitates a pool of tourist guides. “I congratulate you all. Your work begins now to see that the tourists coming to Ilocos Sur are properly served and tourist destinations are properly promoted” Gov. Ryan Singson addressed.
